What is #GivingTuesday? It’s a global day of giving that was derived to push back against the consumerism of post-Thanksgiving: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one day set aside for giving back to charitable organizations?… And so #GivingTuesday was born!
The Little Sisters of the Poor are one of many charities participating in this year’s #GivingTuesday. While we are always fundraising to meet our needs, Tuesday, November 29 offers us a rare opportunity to grow the gifts we receive. When you give to the Little Sisters of the Poor on November 29, we receive a dollar per dollar match up to the first $500.
That means we can double your gift and provide more for our elderly Residents. This year, your donation will support the winter heating costs of our Home. Help us live out our Vision as we, the Little Sisters of the Poor and staff of Sacred Heart Home, work together to build a nurturing community where each person is valued and the wisdom of age is celebrated.
Sisters Margaret and Faustina review the official Mayoral Proclamation which declares Nov. 29, 2016 is “Little Sisters of the poor Giving Tuesday.”
