PSALM 131
LORD, my heart is not proud;
nor are my eyes haughty.
I do not busy myself with great matters,
with things too sublime for me.
Rather, I have stilled my soul,
hushed it like a weaned child.
Like a weaned child on its mother’s lap,
so is my soul within me.
Israel, hope in the LORD, now and forever.

For me this psalm sums up the dispositions that led Jeanne Jugan from being an ordinary working woman, with a heart for the elderly poor, and transformed her into SAINT Jeanne Jugan. All the good that she accomplished, she saw as reflections of how Good God is and how much He loves the poor in spirit.

As followers of our foundress, St. Jeanne Jugan, we, her daughters, strive to imitate her profound love of God and her simple approach to life.
