St. Jeanne Jugan, foundress of the Little Sisters, was quoted as saying “Making the elderly happy, that is what counts.” Today our Residents were made very happy by “Kelly” a beautiful black Labrador therapy dog.
About two times a month our Home is visited by therapy dogs and their handlers. Our Residents are always so happy to have a visit from these four legged friends. They really enjoy petting them and offering them a small treat. Many of our Residents had pets over the years, so a visit from a gentle dog like Kelly brings back many happy memories of their own beloved pets. We are especially grateful today for Kelly and her handler Helen Guilford, they brought a lot of smiles to the faces of our Residents.
