Born in Detroit and the eldest of 13 children in a Catholic Family, Sr. Mary Patricia learned early on of the value of community life. Prayer was so much a part of the family life. No one was too small to participate in the nightly rosary or morning prayers and she credits her family as being the bedrock of her vocation. In her family life Sr. Mary Patricia experienced the fidelity and generosity that has continued with her in her vocation as a Little Sister.

Sr. Mary Patricia is very active at the Sacred Heart Home in Oregon caring for the Residents and helping with the collecting of goods for the Home. She faithfully goes out to local businesses with the Begging Sister in the collecting van and helps to bring back needed items to the Home. She also spends her time praying for vocations to religious life and has been known to ask many a young person if they are considering Gods call in their life?
