Lent is the season of spiritual pilgrimages and our Residents enjoyed a small pilgrimage recently to St. Patrick’s Historic Church in Toledo. Seventeen of our Residents, volunteers, staff, and Lourdes University nursing students got the chance to visit this beautiful church in Downtown Toledo. They all enjoyed a tour of the Church led by Deacon Tom Carone, who shared some history of the local area and the people who helped to build the church. He also told them about the famous lightning storm that destroyed the steeple and cross, which has recently been replaced.
Alice Ferguson, one of our new Residents shared with the group that her grandparents were members of St. Patrick’s and she remembered attending Mass there as a small child. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed this beautiful church.
