The Little Sisters were so grateful on November 12th as they along with 450 others from the Toledo area celebrated National Philanthropy Day at a luncheon hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. National Philanthropy Day is celebrated each year as a day for people to come together and thank philanthropists, volunteers, and fundraisers who help support the many worthwhile charitable causes in our local communities.
This year our good friend Lynn Anderson, was recognizes as one of the “2015 Outstanding Community Volunteers” for her wonderful work with the Little Sisters of the Poor. Lynn has selflessly given of her time, talents, and treasure to help support a mission she believes deeply in, caring for the elderly poor. We are so grateful for Lynn and the many other volunteers that help partner with our mission.
While at the event the Sisters were blessed to see members of the Sisters of Notre Dame, another religious order located here in Toledo. They also visited with a very special friend, Ms. Dorothy Price, a long-time supporter of the Sacred Heart Home. So many other benefactors of the Little Sisters were also present, which made for a wonderful afternoon of sharing and fellowship for the Sisters.
