Many of our Residents and their family members have given selfless service to our country in the armed forces. This Memorial Day weekend we remember these veterans with photographs and military memorabilia on display in our main lobby area. The Residents, Sisters and staff supplied photos of loved ones that served to protect our country in days gone by.

On Memorial Day we will celebrate with a picnic and an “Honor our Heroes” reception in our auditorium. This celebration will be an opportunity for due recognition to be given to our Residents who served in the military.

Our Residents that are veterans were the lucky ones. Many of their family members, and close friends never returned from war and conflict overseas. They gave what Abraham Lincoln described in his Gettysburg Address as “the last full measure of devotion.” On this Memorial Day we remember that the cost of Freedom is not free. Someone and their family have paid the price for us to have this tremendous gift!
