The Residents of St. Joseph unit enjoyed something out of the ordinary today when they were served a special Holiday Brunch catered by the nursing students from Lourdes University!
Many happy smiling Residents were served a selection of custom made omelets, French toast and other delicious brunch treats in the parlor area of St. Joseph’s wing. The Lourdes University nursing students creatively helped transform the area into a unique and beautiful dining space.
These nursing students are completing the practicum part of their college studies by doing hands on care here with the Little Sisters of the Poor. They have been coming to our home for the past few weeks and working side by side with our nurses and aides caring for our Residents. Our ever-creative activity director, Roseanne Kalinowski, came up with the unique idea of hosting a Holiday Brunch as a way to do something fun and different for the Residents. Having the nursing students serve the brunch was an extra special treat that the Residents really enjoyed!
