Four of our Toledo area Catholic high schools recently completed their Lenten collections for our Home. Kateri – Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School, Notre Dame Academy, Central Catholic High School and St. Ursula Academy all participated in our 6th annual Lenten collection.
Each of these schools did a wonderful job of collecting needed supplies for our Residents. Such items as body wash, deodorant, shampoo, paper towels, body lotions, mouth wash, and other personal items were donated by the students and their parents during Lenten collections held at each school.
Both Notre Dame Academy and Central Catholic High School dropped off their donated items at our Home, where they were greeted by some of our Residents and the Sisters who expressed their gratitude. Our Sisters went out to Kateri-Cardinal Stritch High School and St. Ursula Academy and did a pickup of the items these two schools had collected. The Sisters who went out to the schools came back with many happy stories of their interacting with the students.
The Little Sisters are grateful to all of these school communities for their thoughtful act of kindness towards our Residents. These Lenten collections help bring in about a year’s supply of needed items, helping us from spending limited resources that can otherwise be used to care for our Residents. These Lenten collections are a wonderful witness by the youth in our local area doing charitable deeds for the less fortunate of our community.
