The annual Lenten collections with the area Catholic High Schools continued recently at Kateri Catholic schools here in Oregon. The Sisters, represented by Srs. Margaret and Patricia, collected many donated items at Cardinal Stritch Catholic High school last Friday, March 9th.
As the Sisters collecting van pulled up this last Friday, many students and school President Rev. Eric Schild were on hand to greet the Sisters and help load up the donated items. This was the third year that the school held a Lenten collection to bring in much needed items for the Residents of the Sacred Heart Home. Truly this was the best collection to date, as the students brought in bottles of Hand & Body lotion, paper towels, liquid hand soaps, and other items for our Residents.
The Sisters and students were also featured in news segments on Fox News, WTOL 11 News, and the Oregon Press. Many smiling faces were captured as the students loaded the collecting van and interacted with the Sisters.
The Residents of the Sacred Heart Home and the Little Sisters of the Poor want to thank the students, faculty, and administration of Kateri Catholic Schools – Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School for their generosity in conducting this Lenten collection. The items they donated will be used by our Residents and truly help in a very practical way to defray our operating costs for the Home. The students and their families will be remembered in prayers by the Little Sisters.
