This year to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart, our cloister area was transformed into a French bistro called “Chez Jeannes,” in honor of St. Jeanne Jugan. The Residents from our apartments, assisted living, and nursing care areas all joined together for a special luncheon and were waited on by the Sisters and our staff. They were given a choice of either Barbeque Ribs or baked Talapia, and as a special dessert our Residents enjoyed a special cream filled éclair. Later in the day, our Residents gathered for a special dinner and a party where they were entertained by a live band. A high point of the day was when the Residents presented the Sisters with a check for $1,000, which had come from the proceeds of a year’s worth of 50/50 raffles that the Resident’s Council had held. Everyone at the Sacred Heart Home greatly enjoyed the day’s celebrations.
