Our Residents were surprised recently at a special luncheon by the visit of Mary the Mother of God, St. Joseph, St. Nicholas of Myra, St. Patrick of Ireland, St. Elizabeth of Hungary and St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop of Australia. Nursing students from Lourdes University dressed up as some of their favorite Saints. They each came out on stage and one of the students read biographical clues on which Saint they were portraying. Our Residents really knew their Saints, as they eagerly called out one Saint’s name after the next.
These Nursing students from Lourdes University have been doing a semester of their studies here at our Home, learning about the practical work of nursing and caring for the elderly. We greatly appreciate their warm smiles and interaction with our Residents.
