The Fighting Irish of Central Catholic and the Eagles of Notre Dame Academy recently conducted their annual Lenten collections for our Home. On Thursday, April 10th Central Catholic High School delivered their collected items to our Home. Our Sisters and Residents greeted the students at our entrance and gladly received a large collection of needed toiletries and items for our Residents.
The next day, Friday, April 11th, our Sisters did a collection at Notre Dame Academy. The girls of Notre Dame Academy collected in such items as body wash, deodorant, shampoo and other needed items. The Sisters had a lot of fun interacting with the students and their donations filled our collecting van.
The Sisters are so grateful to both of these school communities for their thoughtful act of kindness towards our Residents. These Lenten collections help bring in about a year’s supply of needed items, helping us from spending limited resources that can otherwise be used to care for our Residents. These Lenten collections are a wonderful witness by the youth of our local area doing charitable deeds for the less fortunate of our community.
