The season of fall in October not only brings the beautiful color changes, pumpkins, scarecrows and gourds – it also means trick or treat time for the kids. This year our annual Pumpkin trail brought out the pirates, princesses, ladybugs, an owl, a teddy bear, Mickey Mouse and many more, as our halls were filled with friendly goblins. All the kids came on the hunt for plenty of goodies. Our Residents had their candy and snacks ready to fill the kids with more than they could carry. Everyone enjoyed seeing the kids in their creative Halloween dress-ups.
But, lest we forget, All Saints day followed. In commemoration, we celebrated some of our favorite special Saints on their day. Thanks to our nursing students who took to appropriate garb and appeared for everyone to recognize. We had a visit from St. Francis, St. Joseph, St. Teresa, St. Damian, St. Thomas Moore, St. Kateri, Pope John Paul, and of course, St. Jeanne Jugan. It was an interesting visit, to say the least.
