Who doesn’t remember getting a Dum Dum sucker when they were a child, or eating orange Circus Peanuts or Jelly Belly candies?  At the Spangler Candy Co. these and many more candies are being made by the millions each day.

Recently some of our Residents had a fun outing on a very hot summer day to Bryan, Ohio to tour the Spangler Candy Co., which has been in business since 1906. Spangler is the largest privately held U.S. confectionery manufacturer, that produces 12 million Dum Dum suckers each day, not to mention Spangler Candy Canes, Circus Peanuts, and Jelly Belly’s. Our Residents had a great time touring the 500,000 square foot factory and learning all about the manufacturing of these favorite candies. They also had a lot fun sampling some Dum Dum suckers and getting their pictures taken with the famous Dum Dums Drum Man mascot. This outing to Spangler and the beautiful drive to Bryan, Ohio was greatly appreciated by our Residents.
