Our Residents had a great time recently on a special outing to the newly opened National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio. This museum, operated by the Great Lakes Historical Society, is dedicated to making known the history of the Great Lakes. The museum has many displays that detail the long history of shipping on the Great Lakes, as well as famous naval battles in our own Lake Erie. The Residents had a lot of fun and found the displays of great interest. Besides this new National Museum of the Great Lakes, the Great Lakes Historical Society also operates the Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship and a maritime park adjacent to the museum.

The Little Sisters wish to thank the Museum for making this visit possible for our Residents. Without their generosity and kindness, our Residents could not afford this type of outing and have such a wonderful experience. The Museum is located in downtown Toledo along the Maumee River at 1701 Front Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605. More information can be found at their website.
