The Little Sisters hosted their 5th annual Little Sisters Day at the Mud Hens recently on a beautiful evening. We had record attendance this year, as 275 of our friends and family members joined us for an evening of great food, baseball, and fellowship.
We started the evening with a delicious barbeque picnic, and then took to our seats for some great baseball. Right before the game started, Sr. Margaret was introduced on the field as the “Manager for the Day!” Sr. Margaret had a lot of fun walking out to home plate with Larry Parish, manager for the Mud Hens. She waived to the crowd and showed her team loyalty by sporting a giant foam finger that read “Go Mud Hens!” Her duties included exchanging the starting lineup with the opposing manager and telling him “tell your players no swearing or spitting or it’s a $5 donation to the Little Sisters”. The best part of the evening was when the Toledo Mud Hens won over the Buffalo Bison’s 11- 0, their best win of the season. The Little Sisters must have brought them good luck.
This was a wonderful event that brought many smiles to the faces of our Residents and their families and friends who attended. Many thanks go out to our wonderful sponsors of this fun filled event. The proceeds from this event went to help support the care of our Residents at the Sacred Heart Home.
