On a recent beautiful summer evening the Little Sisters hosted their 4th Annual Little Sisters Day at the MudHens.  This year 250 friends of the Sacred Heart Home showed up at Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens, to share an evening of fun and fellowship.

Our guests shared a wonderful barbeque picnic, received special baseball related door prizes and stayed to watch the ballgame. Mother Cecilia Mary, superior of the Home, was introduced on the field before the game as the “Acting Manager for the Day”! Her duties included exchanging the starting lineup with the opposing manager and telling the players “let’s have a good game, no bad language and no spitting”. Later during the 7th inning stretch, our very own Sr. Raymond, Rosanne Kalinowski (activities director), Betty Teneyck (Hairdresser), Ron Shire and Andy Orosz (Residents) all joined together to sing “Take me out to the Ball Game.” They were featured on the jumbo-tron screen for all the Mud Hen fans in the stadium to see.

As the photos show, this was a wonderful event that brought many smiles to the faces of our Residents and their families and friends who attended. Many thanks go out to our wonderful sponsors of this very special event. All proceeds from the evening went to help support the Residents of the Sacred Heart Home.
