On a warm and clear Friday evening in late August the Sacred Heart Home hosted the second annual Little Sisters Day at the MudHens. More than 150 friends of the Sacred Heart Home showed up at Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo MudHens, to share an evening of fun and fellowship. The guests shared a scrumptious picnic barbeque, received special baseball related door prizes and stayed to watch the ballgame. Mother Cecilia Mary, superior of the Home, was introduced on the field before the game as the “Acting Manager for the Day”! Her duties included exchanging the starting lineup with the opposing manager and telling the players “let’s have a good game, no foul language and no spitting”. As the photos show, this was a wonderful event that brought smiles to the faces of many Residents and their families and friends who attended. Even though the Hens ultimately lost the game, a good time was still had by all. After the game we were all treated to an exciting display of fireworks.
Many thanks go out to our wonderful sponsors and underwriters of this very special event. All proceeds from the evening went to help support the Residents of the Sacred Heart Home.
